Misc Projects

Not everything that comes through Stauffer Guitars is a new custom guitar. Here are a few examples of miscellaneous repair, refinish, and set-up work:

This customer dropped off his parts guitar Tele…literally in pieces. It needed to be sanded, refinished, and completely reassembled and set up. Having a few reference pictures in mind, he picked a custom creamy yellow/off-white paint color from our color fan. In addition to the refinish work, he also wanted a new Seymour Duncan mini-bucker fitted into the standard Tele pickguard. I regret not taking a “before” picture, but here’s the finished product…

This customer (from Portland, Oregon) found Stauffer Guitars online and initially just contacted Joe with some do-it-yourself finish questions. But after several correspondences back and forth, he ended up sending  his Les Paul Custom all the way to Joe in PA to be custom refinished, reassembled, and set up. Being an army buff, he wanted a “beat to heck” army motif finish. So after preparing a custom sample color block for the customer’s approval, Joe set about doing just that. Here are a few pictures of how we received the guitar (already sanded down) and the striking finished product…
