Hi Tom,

I think the reason it sounds so similar is that The guitar construction and materials are very similar to a Strat. Zebrawood is similar to Maple in hardness, and the neck is very common woods except for the Ebony which is a lot harder than Rosewood. The playing does have something to do with it, but I had this guitar loaded with the same strings I use on my strats, tuned down a half step, and it sounded remarkably like a strat.

The main difference between this guitar and either of my strats is that the low end resonance on this thing was ridiculously full compared to either of my other guitars. It suffered a bit on the brightness because of the pickups, but when you would pluck any of the lower strings, it would make my strat sound like a toy.

The signature model we're working on will use some lighter woods to lessen the weight a bit, use brighter pickups, and a narrower neck which will be better for soloing.

Hey guys, big fan. Joe beautiful guitar I love it, zebra wood is gorgeous. Anthony How is it that it doesn't sound much different than your strats. Is it your playing, the amp?maybe. I have an other guitar, godin actually and I have t.s. pup's in it and it doesn't sound like my strat as much as that fury does. Cannot wait to see your model, Thanks for another great vid. Good luck. Peace
